The most important moment of the Christian liturgical year can be placed between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. During these days the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ are remembered.

The parish of Santa Maria de la Seu plays a very active role in the preparation of Manresa’s the Holy Week events. This year, the special celebrations in the basilica and visiting hours are as follows:

  • Sunday April 10, Palm Sunday:
    • 10.45 am: Palm blessing and mass sung by the Music Chapel of the Seu.
    • Tourist visits from 12.15pm to 2pm.
    • 6pm: viacrucis.
    • 7pm: mass
    • 8pm: procession of silence. * From April 10 to 15, the “Paso de la Macarena” will be exposed in the nave of the basilica.
  • From Monday, April 11 to Thursday, April 14: regular hours for tourist visits (from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
  • Thursday April 14, Easter Thursday: Mass is not celebrated in the Seu in the morning and it is at 8.30 pm in the afternoon.
  • Friday April 15, Good Friday:
    • 11am: viacrucis.
    • From 12am to 2pm: open to tourist visits.
    • 8pm: Good Friday procession.
  • Saturday, April 16, Pasqual Vigil:
    • From 10.30am to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm: opening hours for tourist visits.
    • 11.30pm: Pasqual vigil.
  • Sunday April 17
    • From 12am to 2pm: opening hours for visits.
  • Monday April 18
    • From 10.30am to 2pm and from 5pm to 7pm: opening hours for visits.
